Registration
In order to contribute to Chains of Reason, users must first register and login - via the link in the top-right. Registration involves providing, and then verifying, your email address. Once you have registered, and logged-in, please check your preferences settings via the 'my preferences' link in the top-right. Every user has a user page, with the title 'User:Your username', and which you can use to introduce yourself to other users.
Contributing
See also the contribution rules.
Content pages
Only trusted users - 'admins' - can edit content pages, although all edits must be the product of consensus among users, with admins not having any greater a say than other users.
Talk pages
Every content page has its own 'talk' page, accessible via the 'talk' tab at the top of the page, where users can discuss the contents of the relevant content page. To contribute to a discussion that has already started, click on the 'edit' link to the right of the topic heading. To start a new topic, click on the '+' tab at the top of the talk page. Every time you post a comment, please remember to end your comment with four tildes - '~~~~' - which will create a 'signature', consisting of your username (in the form of a link to your user page) and the current date and time, when you save your comment. Always add a few words in the 'summary' box when posting a comment, even if it is just 'posting reply' or 'posting new topic', etc.
You can communicate directly with registered users via the talk page for their user page.
'Watching' pages
Registered users can receive email alerts whenever anything on a page is changed (including on talk pages) by clicking on the 'watch' tab at the top of that page, and opting, in their preferences, to receive emails whenever their 'watched' pages are altered. Users can also see a list of the latest changes to pages they are 'watching' by clicking on 'my watchlist' in the top-right.
Page histories
Click on the 'history' tab at the top of any page, including talk pages, to access an archive of all changes made to that page.
