A brief history of Chains of Reason
Chains of Reason began life in May 2005 as the personal website of user Derrick Farnell (with the web address of www.chains-of-reason.org), created with the aim of presenting simply his own philosophical reasoning in the format used on the current site. However, at the beginning of 2007 he decided that the site wasn't going anywhere and, inspired by Wikipedia ('the free encyclopedia that anyone can edit'), he turned the site into a wiki - a website that allows users to edit its content (see the Wikipedia article on wikis). Chains of Reason was relaunched as a wiki on 4th February 2007. After a subsequent period of neglect, due to personal circumstances, Derrick re-relaunched the site, from scratch, on 16th May 2008.
Funding
Chains of Reason is an ad-free, non-profit site that is currently funded by the founder, Derrick. Any donations would be very gratefully received!
